Meet Dr. Summers

Dr. Jeff Summers was born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska. A one-time Olympic hopeful in ice hockey, he has competed all over the United States and Canada. Following career ending injuries, he moved south and earned his Bachelor’s degree with honors in Microbiology and a minor in Mathematics from Clemson University. He completed his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD), also with honors, at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, and earned his specialty certificate in orthodontics at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. 

Dr. Summers is married to his wife of many years, Sandi, and together they have four beautiful children: Jefferson, Smith, Ellis-Jayne and Adeline. Naturally, they enjoy spending quality time together as a family and are kept busy with the children’s activities. Specific interests include traveling and any opportunity to be outside. Always on the forefront of technology and advancements in orthodontics, Dr. Summers is driven to provide the highest level of care to his patients. His efforts have been recognized in the orthodontic community. He is a member of the prestigious Ormco Insiders, a group limited to a few hundred orthodontists in the world. This group is instrumental in the development of tomorrow’s technology in orthodontics, and his membership has permitted him to be amongst the first to utilize these advancements. His is also a member of Ormco’s KOL group, the Key Orthodontic Leaders.

As a national lecturer on orthodontics and the Damon System, Dr. Summers has earned the title of a Damon System Champion. He is a member of the Greenville Dental Society, the South Carolina Dental Association, the Southern Association of Orthodontists, the American Association of Orthodontists, the World Federation of Orthodontists as a Fellow and an Accredited Fellow of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.
